10 More Movies That Need To Be Video Games

6. The Shawshank Redemption (1994)

Plays Like - Prisoner of War, Escape From Butcher Bay Developer - Bethesda Back in the day there was a little-known game called Prisoner of War on PS2, Xbox and PC. Set during World War II, the game had you trying to escape various POW war camps, without using any weaponry whatsoever at any point. Instead, all you had to your advantage was your own noggin and a knack for stealth. It certainly wasn't perfect; you played as Captain Stone who was sort of like a poor man€™s Harrison Ford (Dennis Quaid?) who was also surrounded by stereotypical Brits (Tally-ho chap!) and comedy Nazis straight out of Allo Allo. It remains a memorable experience, thanks to the way in which it depicted the giddy thrill of escaping from prison and mingling with the incarcerated crooks. There€™s no reason then that Frank Darabont€™s sweeping prison drama couldn't be rejigged into a similarly engrossing mix of RPG and stealth em-up. As Andy Dufresne you€™ll be able to explore the huge complex of Shawshank Prison during the 1950€™s. Missions range from finding bird seed for Brooks, collecting hidden posters of Rita Hayworth and sneaking into the warden€™s office to play records over the speaker system. Achievements/Trophies Hope will set you free - Finish the game. Brooks was here - Finish Brooks' sidequests. Bogged Down - Drop the soap.
