3. Final Fantasy X - It’s The Lightning's Fault

Now let it be known that Final Fantasy X is one of my favourite in the franchise, I know everyone brings up the laughing scene and I know that some of the story was absolute bunk, but I loved the combat and I loved Blitzball in all its forms.

In fact the best way to measure how much I love Blitzing them balls is by saying I like it as much as Rikku from FFX hates lightning. In game, she doesn’t take any extra damage from being hit by a bolt, but she does make mention several times how much it frightens her, which kind of makes it even more cruel that you can bring her into the Thunder Plains; an area almost exclusively dominated by flashes more devastating than when your mum drops her beach towel on the nudist beach.

And if you’re a true sadist and allow her to bite the big one whilst in the Thunder Plains, you’ll get a secret game over which says “it was the lightning's fault” leading some fans to joke that she was predicting the sucky era that Lightning herself would preside over in the franchises slide from grace.
