10 MORE Video Game Villain Turns You Never Saw Coming
5. Dandelion and Savory - Steambot Chronicles
When Steambot Chronicles opens you find yourself in the shoes of Vanilla Bean, and yes all the characters are named as gingerly as that - again, pun intended. Vanilla has amnesia and one could argue he's got a bit of a villain turn of his own when he finally recovers his memories and learns he was a runaway who snuck aboard a ship and eventually became a pirate.
But the much bigger surprise is Dandelion, the polite, quiet violinist and master craftsman of fine instruments who lives in the countryside. The most 'villainous' thing about him seems to be that he may have been your love interest's first crush. But, no, turns out he's the leader of the Bloody Mantis - a brutal terrorist cell intending to carpet bomb the nearby city.
Dandelion's reasoning being that the young man who accidentally killed his younger brother received no punishment for the deed, due to the kid's father being super-wealthy and powerful. If you look close enough, that's not a particularly surprising thing, though. The more surprising fact is that the sexy backup singer of your band (that you can also date for a bit) is his lieutenant!
That's right, the sweet, sultry blonde, Savory, is secretly Sarriette, the second-in-command of the Bloody Mantis terrorist group. And is actually quite a brutal fighter and leader.
