10 MORE Video Game Villain Turns You Never Saw Coming
6. Big Bo - Binary Domain
Binary Domain is an under-appreciated game conceived by the same minds behind the eclectic Yakuza series.
Instead of playing up-and-coming yakuza enforcers, though, you play as former U.S. Army special forces 1st Sergeant Dan 'Survivor' Marshall. Dan is tasked with infiltrating and extracting controversial cyborg designer, Amada Yoji, by an international UN strike force called Rust Crew.
One of the features of the game is the various different endings you can acquire by improving your relationship with different members of the team. Your Rust Crew force includes such faces as Chinese sniper and secret cyborg Faye Lee, former MI6 operatives Charles Gegory and Rachel Townsend, and of course your old friend Roy 'Big Bo' Boateng.
Of the various endings you can witness one has your android companion Cain die in the final battle and Big Bo sacrifice his life to save Faye. Another has Cain live, and Rachel dies to protect Faye. But arguably the worst turn of events is to learn that Big Bo was a double agent the whole time.
If your bond level isn't high enough with Bo by the end of the game he turns on you and becomes part of the final boss battle, forcing you to kill him. Considering he's with you since the tutorial and the only person you know outside of the mission - a little surprising to say the least.
