Minecraft has been one of the greatest success stories in recent gaming memory. At first glance of its super simplistic, blocky visuals, gamers may wonder why they’d want to spend any time with this ugly title at all. Dig a little deeper, though (pun intended) and you’ll find that this is a sandbox in the truest, purest sense of the world.
Why You’ll Never 100% It:
The phrase ‘the only limit is your imagination’ is one of the most worn-out clichés ever, but in Minecraft’s case, it’s literally true. If you’re playing only to collect materials and build, Minecraft has absolutely no end at all.
Survival and story elements were added later, but the core gameplay of Mojang’s smash hit has always revolved around building absolutely anything you can think of. Elaborate structures such as Hogwarts Castle can take weeks or months of dedicated work themselves, but whole cities are even possible!
If you’re creative, enthusiastic and talented enough (and have the free time), you could spend a lifetime with the game and still do/see only a fraction of what can be done within it. There’s always something new to aim for or try out.
