10 Most Addictive Video Games Of 2017

5. The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild

Legend Of Zelda Breath Of The Wild
Nintendo

What a year for the old school becoming new again. Breath of the Wild sees Nintendo take Zelda back to its roots - literally all the way back to 1986 and the first open-world instalment that forced you to explore every nook and cranny to progress.

Thankfully BotW isn't as frustrating or obtuse as that, but there's an endless sense of pure playability to the way Link can traverse the entire environment, that makes the whole world one giant level.

Within are puzzle shrines to solve, minigames to uncover, flora and fauna to harvest and cook - oh, and the in-game, very much talked-about "Legend of Zelda" to uncover and embody.

See, Ganon has once again ravaged the land, but with some of the best third-person controls in history, a gorgeous graphics engine and twenty things to do at any given time, Breath of the Wild is not only a phenomenal reason to buy a Switch, but one of the best games of all time.
