One GTA:IV's many angry, disillusioned citizens, Packie is introduced to players around the game's halfway point and soon becomes a longstanding ally and mission boss. His involvement in the game advances the story fairly well, and his arrival into Niko's life coincides with an upturn in the intensity of events in the game. Packie's involvement on this list may not be entirely his own fault, however. Missions involving Packie in GTA:IV were regularly frustrating affairs and Packie has a reputation for being a bit of a rogue. This was due to errant movements and an apparent inability to protect himself when players are otherwise engaged. This is particularly apparent in the mission 'Luck of the Irish', where players initially have to oversee a trade and protect Packie from across the street with a sniper rifle. During this mission Packie proves to be infuriatingly difficult to keep alive and has a tendency not to use sense while in the middle of the ensuing gunfight. This may have been an active choice by Rockstar, to reflect the character's rather reckless personality, but it is nonetheless extremely annoying to attempt to protect someone who seems intent on just getting himself killed anyway.
