10 Most Annoying Pokémon Ever
9. Wimpod
This one’s only really annoying if you make it annoying, but in a game where the tagline is ‘Gotta Catch ‘Em All’ (Dexit not withstanding), it counts. Wimpod’s evolution Golisopod is a stat behemoth too, so many will put in the effort.
First off, Wimpod will literally run away from you on the beach before you can battle it. With Pokémon Ride, catching up to it is fairly straightforward, but still. Not a great start.
Once you battle it though, Wimpod’s cowardice still isn’t over. If it’s health drops below 50%, it will use the ability Wimp Out to run away from the battle, forcing you to start the process all over again. Oh, and if your first move defeats it, Wimpod will disappear from the beach for a while, forcing you to return later.
Regular Pokéballs likely won’t work, as you can’t drop its health enough for them to be effective. If you’ve brought along a Quick Ball or a Nest Ball (although Nest Ball only works on Route 8), you might have a chance.
Considering Sun & Moon are some of Pokémon’s easiest, most hand holdy games, all these extra faffs just don’t fit the tone.
