10 Most Annoying Soulsborne Creatures Ever
The Soulsborne enemies you HATED to fight every time they showed up.
Even those among us who've never played a Soulsborne game will be well aware of FromSoftware's reputation for serving up some of gaming's toughest, most ingeniously designed action.
The developer is a master of delivering boss battles that leave you stewing in your own impotent rage until, finally, you figure out the strategy to take them down once and for all.
But what about those non-boss enemies we encounter throughout the developer's back catalogue, which prove no less aggravating than any of the more elaborate and overblown bosses?
These enemies, many of them recurring throughout games and perhaps even across franchises, all immediately cemented themselves as forces to be reckoned with the first time anyone encountered them.
They demanded to be taken seriously, and that we all did - that is to say, we dreaded them every single time they showed up.
Whether by nature of their aggressive attacks, the tediousness of dealing with them, or the sheer numbers they threw at you, these foes all had even hardened Soulsborne players questioning if FromSoftware finally took things a little too far this time...
10. Bonewheel Skeleton - Dark Souls
Let's kick things off with Dark Souls' Bonewheel Skeletons, whose rolling attacks can easily break the guard of unsuspecting players.
One-on-one the skeletons are more of an irritation with their erratic behaviour rather than an infuriating challenge, ensuring a case of bad luck can result in even strong character builds being quickly rinsed of their health.
But if you end up waylaid by a group of the things, their fast attacks can easily make even shorter work of you.
While there's no moment in the original game where you need to actively engage the Bonewheels in order to proceed, their sheer presence still leaves many rolling their eyes in exasperation.
The player vitriol was vocal enough, however, that FromSoftware gave the Bonewheels a notable nerf for the second and third games in the series.
Seriously, go back to the original Dark Souls after playing the two sequels and you'll probably be taken aback by just how much tougher they actually were in the beginning.
