While developer Sucker Punch has never made a mind-blowing or genre-defining game (the platforming of Sly Cooper came after the likes of Crash, Spyro and Mario, while Infamous' third-person combat wasn't a million miles away from Uncharted's), they always produce solid titles, and their strong track record bodes extremely well for the upcoming Ghost of Tsushima.

A third-person actioner set during the 13th century, the game has you playing as a samurai tasked with fighting back against the powerful Mongol Empire. It's an intriguing setting we can't wait to explore, and as an added bonus, the game itself looks absolutely stunning.

Golden rays of sunshine bursting through the tops of trees, lush flowery plains, snowy forests and enormous scalable mountains; it looks like one of those open worlds that you'll find yourself occasionally stopping in, slowly panning the camera across the latest beautiful vista that you've discovered. Photo mode, please.

It's exciting knowing that we're about to explore a vibrant period of history that video games - or movies and TV shows, for that matter - rarely touch upon, and with some bloody and elegant sword-based combat thrown into the mix, Ghost Of Tsushima looks like it's going to send the PS4 out with a swift, precise and satisfying swipe of the blade.

He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
