3. Elite (Halo)
The Elites are easily the most potent adversaries you will commonly come across in the Halo world, remarked for their incredible agility and strength, as well as the hugely dangerous Energy Sword they often carry with them, capable of killing the player with a single blow. Though the regular Elites, which wield pistols and Carbines, aren't exactly among the most challenging enemies in video game history, it's their unexpected intelligence that makes them a force to be reckoned with. Bungie has ensured that the Elites won't just stand by and wait for you to strike; they'll run, duck, hide and make a good effort to surprise you, particularly if they're packing the aforementioned Energy Sword. Moreover, to Bungie's further credit, they have sought to develop the creatures - known on their home planet as the Sangheili - as more than just moving targets; they have a culture and an honour system, even if our primary goal of slaughter remains the same.
