2. Goomba (Super Mario Bros)
Alright, alright, they're probably the most innocuous enemy in the history of video games, but there's no doubting their awesomeness and iconic status in the lineage of video games, no? The Goombas are small, anthropomorphic mushroom-like characters who are easily the most prolific enemies throughout the Super Mario games, one which Mario can quickly do away with by simply jumping on their heads. They're easy enough to vanquish, though players who are rushing through a level beyond their speed might find themselves crashing head-on into one occasionally. With their hilarious look and addictive dispatch method, it's no surprise that they promptly became a series mainstay, and were even dubiously brought to life in the misguided 1993 movie adaptation of the franchise.
