10 Most Badass Backstories In Mortal Kombat History
8. Kobra
The suspiciously Ken Masters-alike Kobra makes this list despite not being a particular favourite of the fan base. Having trained for years in a New York City karate school; Kobra began to wonder whether his skills would work in a real fight. Taking the next step in his strangely superhero-esque origin story; Kobra decided to test out his skills by taking to the streets to fight crime. Starting with street gangs then on to gangbangers and drug dealers; the thrill of these fights began to consume him and he began to kill his opponents. Continuing to kill and graduating on to looting and robbery; eventually he was caught by the NYPD. As they took him downtown the officers were attacked by Kabal and Kira who recruited Kobra to the new Black Dragon then departed to Outworld to work for Havik. Many of us have studied martial arts to varying degrees in our lives; but few, if any, have thought they were capable of transferring those skills into fighting street crime. That act alone is enough to get Kobra onto this list; despite what you may think of him as a character.
