10 Most Badass Backstories In Mortal Kombat History

3. Bi-Han (Original Sub-Zero & Noob Saibot)

The backstory of Bi-Han could have been the storyline for some great opera or classic Greek tragedy; the fact that he's still going in the face of many things that would stop most of us in our tracks - including death - is testament to his inclusion. Bi-Han, as Sub-Zero, was drawn into an attempt by Quan Chi to restore the fallen Elder God Shinnok before the events of the first Mortal Kombat game. During this period he fought and killed Scorpion, defeated four gods, the spectre of Scorpion and several of Quan Chi's underlings before defeating the sorcerer and using his cunning to take the amulet from the hands of Shinnok himself. During this quest Bi-Han learned that his soul was corrupted and that if he died before its cleansing it would descend to the Nether Realm; something he was unable to do before he was murdered by Scorpion. Reborn as the demonic representation of the darkness of his soul and taking the name Noob Saibot; Bi-Han went on to serve both Shinnok and Shao Kahn as an assassin and was credited with killing Goro. Hard to defeat in both life and death; Bi-Han is not to be taken lightly.
