10 Most Badass Backstories In Mortal Kombat History

2. Goro

Prince Goro, leader and most famous of the Shokan race, earned his place on this list over 500 years. Using his Shokan and Kuatan fighting styles as well as his Dragon Fangs (gauntlet like daggers worn on his wrists); Goro came close to achieving Shao Kahn's goal of taking over Earthrealm through Mortal Kombat. Wining in his first appearance in the tournament where he defeated the Great Kung Lao; Goro went on to win nine consecutive Mortal Kombat tournaments by the start of the first game. Think about that; he won nine tournaments filled with ninjas, demigods, soldiers, samurais etc. all with special powers. For the best part of 500 years he remained undefeated in the face of all the opposition that the Mortal Kombat tournament attracts; that is seriously impressive. In later games he helped overthrow Shao Kahn, survived an assassination attempt by Noob Saibot, faked his own death and then helped Shao Kahn to regain his throne. Add to that his ability to throw a fireball from each hand and Goro can rightfully be considered one of the biggest badasses the franchise has ever seen.
