10 Most Brilliantly OTT Sports Video Games Of All Time

4. MLB Slugfest: Loaded

America's pastime am I right? Throw in 120 mph fastballs and being able to punch a baserunner in the face with the ball and you've got Slugfest. This edition was certainly the strongest of the series, adding the ability for online play, which actually worked surprisingly well and boasting the best commentary out of a Midway game. The two commentators played off of one another so well and it was actually funny to listen to and not a nuisance. It's also worth noting that this might be the only MLB licensed video game that ever got a T rating in history. The game, as usual for all Midway titles, featured the ability to play as absurd and hilarious unlockable teams, the most notable being a team comprised of numerous Scorpions and a team of numerous Sub-Zeros from the Mortal Kombat games. The gameplay itself was immensely fun: you can't under-estimate the joy of purposefully going out of the way to make ridiculous diving catches in the outfield, and punching the first baseman in the face while safely standing on base. The game's arcade like controls made it easy to pick up and play, and the ridiculous action made it hard to put down.
