10 Most Broken Spell Cards In Yu-Gi-Oh!
1. Pot Of Greed
But what does it do!?!?
Pot of Greed is the most meme'ed card of all time. Fun fact - the reason why everyone asks the titular question is that every character from the English anime would state what Pot of Greed did as they played it and drew two cards, I guess it was a great way to eat up air time...
Pot of Greed is whats known as a 'free plus one', a term commonly used by Yu-Gi-Oh players to describe card advantage.
Pot saw play in every deck up until its eventual ban on the October 2005 ban list and with every right. The minimum cards a deck should have is 40, Pot effectively makes all decks more efficient and speeds up consistency.
Pot shares the same problem as Delinquent Duo because it was always limited to one the duelist who first played it was heavily favoured. When you could return it to your hand and reuse it with effects like Magician of Faith or Dark Magician of Chaos it pretty much allowed you to see more cards, more selection and bury your opponent in card advantage.
While it'll never come off the ban list because we have 'fixed replacements' like Pot of Desires and Pot of Extravagance lets all raise a glass to the card that never fails to put a smile on duelists face everywhere!
