10 Most Compelling Backstories Of GTA Characters

1. Trevor Philips (GTA V)

Perhaps due to backlash from gamers over the more serious tone GTA IV had taken, Rockstar decided to throw everything they could at GTA V, attempting to please as many different types of players as was humanly possible. Thus, Trevor Philips was born, a character who represents the chaotic nature of Grand Theft Auto sessions amazingly well. There's a theory that Rockstar wanted the 3 main protagonists in the game to serve something for everybody. Michael De Santa was like a throwback to Tommy Vercetti, Franklin Clinton was almost a modern day CJ, and Trevor Philips was an amalgamation of the worst parts of every GTA personality. By creating him, Trevor became a gaming treasure, arguably the character most GTA fans had the best experience playing as. A lot of this could be credited to the missions, which were insane chunks of action and madness, but the actual incendiary nature of Trevor as a character has to be given praise. His back story is one of degradation, insanity and alcohol, but it's a whirlwind of drama. What other characters from the GTA universe did you find compelling?
