Contrast O.G Loc with the main protagonist in 'San Andreas', and that's where things start to get really interesting. Carl Johnson is one of the most relatable characters Rockstar have ever put together, mainly because he has more than an air of a normal dude who is dropped into this madcap, crazy world and doesn't really know what to make of it all. The people around CJ may be off their rockers, but the man himself is a calming influence. That's not to say that he's adverse to getting his hands dirty, this is GTA after all, but Johnson wants nothing more than to live his life, be happy and get away from the pressures of gang life which permeated his childhood. Only returning home to pay his respects to his mother, CJ is soon caught up in it all once again. Throughout his journey back into the city of San Andreas, it's never really explained what Johnson was doing in Liberty City. Sure, players are told that he worked for the Leone crime family, but details are sketchy. That just makes it all the more intriguing, because Rockstar are still to tie up that particular story arc. It was rumoured to be the main crux of GTA: San Andreas Stories, but that game hasn't yet been released.
