10 Most Disastrous Releases Of The Current Generation
7. Cryptozoo
Logan Paul has worn many hats in his rise to fame- YouTuber, energy drinks hawker, astonishingly talented professional wrestler - but some of his other chapeaus of choice have been, shall we say, questionable.
Paul's latest dented cap arrived in the form of Cryptozoo, a game where, according to its webpage, players can "Buy NFTs of animals, breed them, earn yield, trade them, play mini games to win $ZOO, and more". Aside from the eye-rolling mention of NFTs and cryptocurrency, not much to get excited about. The next quote, taken from the game's roadmap, is a tad more interesting:
"December 2022 - Coffeezilla exposes Logan Paul's fraud".
Yes, that is the game creators themselves admitting that Logan Paul's brainchild was a giant scam. YouTuber Coffeezilla essentially revealed that CryptoZoo launched with key features missing - key features like "customers actually being able to make money off the game" - and that those in charge released it anyway, in order manipulate the value of the $ZOO cryptocurrency to their benefit.
CryptoZoo itself has gone quiet, and Logan Paul has since sent mixed messaged by simultaneously offering refunds to paying customers and suing everyone involved in the scandal - co-founders and reporters alike. Because nothing quite sums up the modern world like conflating "taking responsibility" with "spiteful litigation".
