10 Most Disastrous Releases Of The Current Generation

4. The Day Before

Concord Game
Fntastic

The above photo offers a succinct, one word summary of the story behind The Day Before. A slightly lengthier description of the game's development, release and subsequent closure would be "A clusterf**k from start to finish".

This writer discussed the drama surrounding Fntastic's disasterpiece before its release - a tale of unpaid workers, fake demos and Korean calendar mishaps - and it's safe to say that The Day Before lived down to its reputation after launch. As it turned out, it wasn't just basic employment practises Fntastic had been lying about - it was the type of game they were releasing. The Day Before had been described as an MMO for throughout its development, yet come launch day it turned out to be... an extraction shooter. A boring, hopelessly buggy extraction shooter.

Such was the vitriol heaped upon the game, its servers were shut down two and a half months after its release. Remarkably, this meant it lasted around two months longer than its developer, as Fntastic shut down a mere four days after the game's launch.
