10 Most Disturbing Clowns In Video Games

3. Ennard (Five Nights At Freddy's Series)

Ennard Five Nights At Freddy's: Sister Location

The animatronic creatures in the Five Nights At Freddy's series are all really frightening, but Ennard the clown is in a league of its own.

This nightmarish entity first appeared in Five Nights At Freddy's: Sister Location, where the player must fend him off in a classic FNAF gameplay sequence. He also showed up in Five Nights At Freddy's: Help Wanted, a VR title that upped the horror and made those jump scares hit significantly harder.

Now of course, being a clown makes everything five times scarier, but the main contributor to Ennard's terror factor is its wiry, patchwork, skeleton-like frame, which makes it look like some sort of robotic zombie Frankenstein's monster.

Add to that the general sweaty-palmed intensity of playing a FNAF game, and this metal monstrosity is a clown that you won't be able to forget in a hurry. Especially when it's 2am and you're trying to sleep.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for over ten years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. In 2022, he took charge of WhoCulture and has grown it into the biggest Doctor Who channel on YouTube, and one of the biggest Doctor Who communities on the web full-stop. He has been writing and video editing since his early teens, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers, off the back of a burning obsession with the Matt Smith era of the show. Like many his age, he first got into Doctor Who with the 2005 revival, but has since gone back and fallen in love with the classic years too. If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order, or to give you a random factoid about the making of Gridlock, Danny is the person to ask!
