10 Most Disturbing Danganronpa Deaths

6. Mondo Owada

Not only does Mondo kill Chihiro who considered him to be a trustworthy friend, but he does it solely to cover up a secret, which ends up being revealed in the subsequent trial. Throughout the first Danganronpa game, Mondo has a very aggressive persona, to such a degree that it seemed plausible that his reckless actions would result in a demise through impulsive rule breaking.

However, Chihiro looks up to Mondo for being so "strong", making Mondo's betrayal even more disturbing. His impulsive reactions to Chihiro's own secret does result in his own execution, but only because he lashes out and commits murder.

Mondo's execution fittingly contains a motorbike, referencing not only his Ultimate Talent, but also his brother's death. This is because Mondo's secret is that he feels directly responsible for the death of his older brother, who was the previous leader of their biker gang.

Instead of sacrificing himself to save someone else though, Mondo sacrificed Chihiro to try and protect his own secret. Within his execution, he is forced to experience a very literal Cage of Death stunt, which results in him moving at such high speeds that he is ultimately turned into butter.
