Fallout: New Vegas puts players in the shoes of the Courier. After bring left for dead, the Courier is brought back to life and goes on a journey.

Traversing through the Mojave Wasteland, the player must uncover the truth on why he was shot. The game features a wide cast of characters as well as multiple factions such as Caesar's Legion and the NCR. Every choice matters which can affect different variable during the ending montage of the game.

The DLC add-on, Dead Money, sets the Courier on a new journey. After learning the treasure of the Sierra Madre, the player enters the casino while encountering new and potentially hostile characters. This all culminates at the DLC's climax where the Courier finally reaches the vault.

Despite the horrifying events of the game as well as warnings, the player can still choose to remain enticed by the treasure. A curious Courier decides to check the vault's computer to uncover the secrets within. But should the player ignore all warnings, the Sierra Madre vault will close, locking the player in.
