10 Most Evil Grand Theft Auto Characters

Few villains have messed more heavily with a GTA protagonist's life than Sonny Forelli did in Vice City.

Lead character Tommy Vercetti is coming off of a grim 15-year stint behind bars when players meet him at the start of the game. Prior to his incarceration, Tommy was a young upstart mafioso serving the Forelli family. Threatened by the youngster's potential, Sonny did what so many of GTA's rogues do and tried to set Tommy up, getting rid of him in a fatal sting operation.

Instead, Vercetti murders the 11(!) goons sent in to get rid of him. A decade-and-a-half later, we see the shifty Sonny go right back to his old games, eventually trying to get rid of Tommy once and for all. Beyond his two-faced traitorous treatment of Tommy, there's also his laundry list of crimes to consider, including racketeering, prostitution, gambling, and a long line of ordered hits.

Voiced by the late Tom Sizemore, the increasingly aggressive Sonny only grows more despicable the more we learn about him. His climactic death in the game's wildly over-the-top closing shootout helps end Vice City on an immensely satisfying note.
