GTA III's mafia kingpin proves to be a power-hungry, almost comically petty villain whose ego ultimately proves to be his undoing.

Initially, Leone's more than happy to have Claude around. The Don sends you around town, wiping out any and all potential threats to his own business, in suitably brutal fashion. Unfortunately, this initially lucrative association all comes tumbling down when Salvatore's wife Maria falsely claims to have had an affair with Claude.

Despite the immense success of Claude's murderous escapades, Leone moves forward with attempting to have him murdered, never even simply asking him about Maria's claims. Throwing his own success to the wind in the name of ill-conceived revenge, Leone shacks up with the Columbian Cartel and attempts to send Claude packing with a fatal set-up.

The often obnoxious Leone's paranoid, murderous antics ultimately lead to his own demise, as Claude, now working for the Yakuza, adds the fearsome Don's name to his lengthy kill list.

Leone is an example of a character's villainy ultimately being his undoing. Had he remained focused on his rackets and kept a cooler head, he may well've survived to the end of the game with a larger empire to rule over.

Instead, his temper and megalomania led to a blood-soaked undoing.
