10 Most Hated Mobile Games From Great Video Game Franchises

2. Diablo Immortal

Diablo Immortal
Blizzard

Number two on this list and not even released yet, the announcement of Diablo Immortal provoked such venom that it inspired this whole article. For a short period video game websites buckled under the weight of articles on the subject, and YouTube commentators picked through the carcass for days afterwards, but luckily for the team, Fallout 76 (yes, again) would release within a fortnight, taking the heat off for the time being.

The Diablo series had built up a dedicated fan base, with Diablo III still surprisingly active today. The games can probably be considered the pinnacle of dungeon crawlers, infused with uniquely engaging dark fantasy theme.

The message to Blizzard was clear, and a proper announcement for Diablo IV was made at the following year’s BlizzCon, with a release anticipated for 2021. Time will tell if Immortal has distracted the developer from its main series, or if the strength of feeling on display has given them even more impetus to get things right.
