2. Scalebound
Chances are if you've heard of Bayonetta you've gone that step farther and looked into developer Platinum Games' back catalogue. They're the camerawork-wizards responsible for everything from Metal Gear Rising to the immensely underrated Vanquish, carving out quite the identifiable balls out (and a'flailing) style along the way. For Scalebound they're once again switching allegiance from creating something as a Wii U exclusive, instead signing up with Microsoft for this Monster Hunter-meets-Devil May Cry slash 'em up. Little has been shown of the game apart from the initial reveal trailer, but when that has everything from ginormous dinosaurs being ridden by plucky sword-wielding heroes to nine-headed serpent demons that look to be even more crazy than Bayonetta's finest, it should be a real treat. There's also a touch of Team ICO's The Last Guardian about the assumed relationship between the hero and his beast, and with Microsoft Creative Director Ken Lobb noting that "when people really understand what it is we are building, they're gonna be shocked" there's just the right air of mystery around exactly what this will play like.
