10 Most Inspired Launch Games Ever Released

5. Jet Set Radio Future

jet_Set_radio_future While the original Xbox was an ugly beast, one thing that Microsoft absolutely got right was the apparent tactic to attempt to grab some of the Dreamcast magic on their console. The team behind Metropolis Street Racer developed the original Project Gotham Racing while Sega's beloved Shenmue series also made an appearance the year after the Xbox launch. At the launch though there there was this little beauty, the sequel to the seminal Dreamcast game Jet Set Radio. For those who have never played either game before, the series was about follow skating youths who whizzed around a cel-shaded Tokyo, spraying graffiti and avoiding the police. It was enormous fun and lead to the boom in cel-shaded games that occurred on the Xbox and PS2. The sequel improved on everything from the first game with better graphics and larger levels and comfortably still sits among the best titles to grace the first Xbox. The original was re-released on XBLA and SEN and I very much recommend that you go and have a look if you missed it first time round.
