This boss appears with no fanfare very early in the game, at first appearing to be just another run-of-the-mill combatant, being found at the bottom of a watchtower in the Undead Burg (although you may first run into him through the Darkroot Basin).

This absolute unit wields a dragon tooth for a weapon, carries a greatshield the size of a door, and wears seriously heavy armour. In fact, you can get your version of his garb later on in the game. However, it seriously encumbers movement, which you can use to your advantage when encountering Havel.

Be careful though; he is relentless in pursuit. A common tactic is to try teasing him with quick jabs, dodging as you go, but you can easily find yourself killed in one hit.
