10 Most Intimidating Dark Souls Enemies
5. Skeleton Beast
One of the most common mistakes a new Dark Souls player can make is to try tackling the Catacombs after arriving at the Firelink Shrine, the game's first safe haven. Even for an experienced player, the Catacombs - an underground maze of traps and skeleton warriors - is a challenge, especially if you don't bring any divine weaponry, which is the only way to truly kill its spooky inhabitants.
Directly connected to the Catacombs is the Tomb of the Giants, which is basically the former area with added pitch black darkness and a noticeable increase in pitfalls.
The darkness provokes even more caution than usual in the player; edging along, perhaps with a weak source of light at your disposal, you'll eventually run into a skeleton beast, a gargantuan skeleton that comes crawling out of the dark on all fours. If the sheer shock of bumping into one of these horrors isn't enough to make you fling your controller across the room, then its sheer strength will likely send you over one of the tomb's precipices.
Take the time to give the Tomb a good look upon subsequent trips through it, and you'll notice all of the pairs of eyes observing you from the dark. Creepy.
