2. Kain (The Legacy of Kain)
Finally the man himself, voiced by the awesome actor Simon Templeman. As mentioned before, Kain is arrogant and elitist and one of the most powerful vampires, but just as any other, he used to be human. Murdered by a group of assassins, he later meets the necromancer Mortanius in death, who offers to resurrect him to go and avenge himself. Kain quickly accepts without question... and is promptly raised as a vampire. Soon he finds his assassins and puts them down one by one. Satisfied with his avengeance, he then intends to seek a cure for his vampirism, but as the ghost of Ariel explains, there's no cure for death. Only release. Pulled into a whole different task of restoring the Pillars of Nosgoth, he grows to rather enjoy being a vampire as he becomes more powerful. He learns that the corruption of the Pillars that maintain the balance of Nosgoth may only be repaired with the death of their respective Guardian. But when it came to the final sacrifice, he refused to do it and doomed Nosgoth to an eternity of decay. Thus began his Legacy in his growth as a powerful vampire and a lifetime of hard decisions, discovery of knowledge, and perhaps the restoration of Balance to Nosgoth.
