Admittedly, this game doesn’t have the catchiest title in the world, however, it does have some of the most addictive gameplay. Ultimate Chicken Horse is the debut entry of indie developers Clever Endeavour, released in early March, it’s the pinnacle of multiplayer party games and the most dastardly slice of hell I’ve played in a long, long while.
The aim of the game is to platform your way from the start of the level to the finish faster than your mates do, sounds easy, doesn’t it? Sorry, I forgot to mention that the stage will be littered with traps and gadgets you and friends place before every single round of gameplay.
This endless potential for change means you’re never left frustrated for longer than a couple of minutes. Keep dying on a particularly annoying buzz saw? Cover it with a plank of wood. Can’t get past that menagerie of spike balls? Grab yourself a teleporter and bypass the whole stage.
