10 Most Popular Tekken Characters

Appearance: Tekken 3
1997’s Tekken 3 famously replaced the majority of the roster with a new cast of characters who have since become beloved franchise mainstays. Ling Xiaoyu is one of these characters, being a young Chinese martial artist who was trained by Tekken veteran Wang Jinrei. Since her debut in Tekken 3, Xiaoyu has returned for every subsequent game in the franchise.
Xiaoyu entered the third King of Iron Fist Tournament with the goal of using the prize money from her victory to build an amusement park in China. Her goals throughout the franchise are often relatively light hearted, with her using the prize money in Tekken 5 to build a Time Machine to make the Mishima family like each other. She also has a somewhat obsession with Jin Kazama, who she often seeks to track down.
Despite being a light-hearted character that often isn’t
central to the plot of the games, Xiaoyu is still a popular character with fans
and a formidable fighter on the Tekken roster. Specifically in 2015’s Tekken 7,
she gets a variety of buffs to her character that makes her a force to be
reckoned with. Xiaoyu is one of the most popular female fighting game characters,
especially among the cast of the Tekken franchise.
