10 Most Popular Tekken Characters

5. Nina Williams

Tekken 7 Marshall Law
Namco

First Appearance: Tekken

Nina Williams is one of the few characters to appear in every Tekken game. She is the older sister of Anna, and the pair are Assassins hailing from Ireland. Her popularity within the Tekken community led Nina to star in a spin-off game titled Death by Degrees in 2005.

Originally, Nina entered the first King of Iron Fist Tournament with the task of assassinating Heiachi Mishima, the tournaments host. She has a similar goal in Tekken 2, entering the second King of Iron Fist Tournament with the task of assassinating Kazuya Mishima. After the second tournament, however, Nina is placed into Cryogenic Sleep along with Anna until the events of Tekken 3. During this time, one of her ovum’s was taken and used to create Steve Fox.

Nina is one of the few female characters who debuted in the original Tekken game, along with Michelle Chang, Kunimitsu and Nina’s aforementioned sister Anna. Since this, she has always been the most popular of the female characters in the franchise. Nina’s gameplay is widely regarded as being creative, in a degree above the other characters featured on the roster. This has helped players continue to gravitate towards Nina throughout the different iterations of Tekken.
