10 Most Powerful Knockouts In Gaming History
6. The Witcher 2: Assassins Of Kings - Knockout Finishers
The Witcher series has risen to become one of the most critically acclaimed in all of gaming, though it took three games to reach that point. Many got into the series with the second mainline release, which proved to be a substantial upgrade from the first game. Geralt of Rivia looks to clear his own name when he is framed for regicide and embarks on a new quest throughout the Northern Realms.
Of course, any Witcher needs some time to unwind and the player can pick between dice games and fist-fights. The latter resulted in an easy-going side game that could win Geralt some much-needed money.
In The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, Geralt can engage in some sparring when he's not out hunting monsters. Some players were a little disappointed that these were handled with quick-time-events, but the unique knock-out animations do make up for it somewhat.
Trading blows with both tournament opponents and even his own comrades, the fist-fights in Witcher 2 are rugged and unflinching. The white-haired witcher lands basic jabs, tosses his opponent around and finishes the job with a brutal looking finish.
CDPR would remove these unique animations and focus more on gameplay for The Witcher 3, but the punch-ups in its predecessor still made an impact.
