1. The One Being
Despite never having been a playable character, the One Being has been teased in numerous Mortal Kombat games and is engrained in the series' lore.
In the beginning of time, there were only the Elder Gods and the One Being. The latter fed on the essences of the gods and in retaliation, they split his body into the six powerful Kamidogu, and into the six realms: Earthrealm, Outworld, the Netherrealm, Chaosrealm, Orderrealm, and Edenia. Because of this, the One Being lives within the MK universe and is one of the oldest living characters in the series. As Cetrion explains in one of her intros in MK11, every individual, including the Gods, is the child of the One Being.
Shinnok's Mortal Kombat X even shows what the One Being is capable of if he manages to return. By merging all of the realms, this powerful figure is able to devour all of the Elder Gods and destroy reality upon revival.
Time will tell, then, whether the One Being will finally make a physical appearance in a future Mortal Kombat game.
