10 Most Powerful Weapons In The Fallout Franchise
It's not so dangerous to go alone when you bring these post apocalyptic superweapons.
In the year 2077, instead of a bright cyberpunk-filled future like many expect, the world is devastated by total nuclear warfare between the world's superpowers. At least, that's how it is in the fan-favourite universe of Fallout.
After the bombs dropped and the radiation began to recede ever so slightly, a harsh, inhospitable American Wasteland awaited those who would brave the journey outside their vaults. A simple walk to get irradiated water from the river could lead to some sort of horrific death via radiation poisoning, alien abductions, being eaten by any number of mutated monstrosities, enslavement, or even simple execution by a vicious raider gang of fellow humans.
Fortunately, the player characters in the Fallout series are not like any ordinary post-apocalyptic survivor. Not only do they wield a smorgasbord of impressive skill sets that can turn them into irradiated superhumans able to talk, shoot, blow up, or sneak their way out of almost any situation they encounter in the American Wastelands, they also come across some truly devastating weapons of post-apocalyptic warfare.
It is said war never changes, and yet the absurd arsenals Fallout players use to completely dominate the wastes show that war can also be surprisingly fun when you are blasting the Pip-Boy radio on full as you turn armies of fellow humans, wasteland monsters, and of course the occasional robot into piles of indistinguishable residue and bloody guts.
10. Overseer's Guardian - Fallout 4
Inside the massive underground vaults dotting the American Wasteland, there is usually one person put in charge. They are known simply as the all-knowing, all-seeing, all-powerful Overseer. While these men and women rule their vaults at their own discretion, the Overseer inside Vault 81 seems to have given up her weapon, the Overseer's Guardian, in lieu of a more peaceful approach to ruling.
The player can meet with Vault 81's vendor and find the Overseer's discarded weapon, which will either appear with a short or long barrel due to randomisation when it first spawns in the game. However, by using the crafting system in Fallout 4, the player can customise this weapon to their heart's content, giving the weapon a major boost and turning it into one of the deadliest guns in Fallout 4.
The Overseer's Guardian is an extremely unique gun in that it fires two shots for every pull of the trigger. The best part is that the second bullet doesn't actually take away from the player's ammo, meaning they literally only use one bullet for two projectiles, and still does double the damage which increases if the player decides to modify it. Overall the Overseer's Guardian is perfect for crippling limbs and taking bad guys down at almost every range, and helps save on those expensive bullets while dealing more damage than your average rifle.
