10 Most Promising PlayStation VR Games Coming In 2016

8. EVE: Valkyrie

The Eve universe has been around for such a long time now that it's pretty much been accepted as a constant in gaming; an enigmatic, slowly-moving, slowly-changing entity that can be compared to Jupiter; it's there, it's huge, yet no one's really talking about it. Eve Valkyrie is a space combat game, and CCP Games' latest attempt to try to inter-connect a new game with its continuously popular space-trading MMO, Eve Online. But CCP stressed that their priority is to make Valkyrie a great game unto itself before tying it into their MMO - a wise move when considering the failure of their crossover PS3 shooter, Dust 514. Based on what we've seen so far, Valkyrie looks set to deliver on our interstellar warfare fantasies. This beautifully polished space shooter has been in development for some years now, and that really shines through when looking at the gameplay footage so far (though it's worth bearing in mind that everything you've seen was probably running on a beefy, high-end PC). The space battles look dizzying (in the best possible way), the planetary backdrops look stunning, and the 360-degree head movement offered by VR has genuine gameplay value. The flying/dogfighting genre so far looks like the one that will benefit most from VR technology, and Valkyrie will be on the frontline of putting this theory to the test.
