10 Most Ridiculous Things You Did For Gaming

2. Searching Maps For Collectibles

No-one likes to have an incomplete collection. There's something uniquely satisfying about book-ending a uniform set, and knowing you've got 100% of something you specifically started collecting.

But with gaming, it's made into a frustrating task because most of the time, you didn't ask to start the collection. Chances are you were playing the game and stumbled into one. Most of us could ignore them, but for the unfortunate few who couldn't let it slide, it became unbearable.

Video games nowadays bloat our screens and maps with so many varied icons, it would make sense to clear the map by getting rid of them. Assassins Creed, Grand Theft Auto and even the Batman: Arkham games cannot resist splattering the in-game maps with varying degrees of symbols and icons that bring you to the edge of madness.

Whether you scanned every alleyway, rooftop, nook and cranny in a level, or brought up a map online, a lot of time was spent finding those Hidden Packages just to get 100% completion.

Most of these collectibles don't matter anyway - completing the game with or without 100% never effected your overall score, and even worse were the ones that didn't unlock any additional features.

Why did we do it?

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
