10 Most Sacrilegious Video Game Movie Moments

2. Resident Evil - Ditching The Mansion

If you had to pinpoint anything in particular about the first Resident Evil, what would come to mind?

The mansion, right?

The iconic Arklay mansion where a lot of the game takes place, is known for its obtuse puzzles, and is one of the first game's biggest draws. So when Mortal Kombat (the first one) director Paul W. S. Anderson announced his second foray into games-to-films, fans were cautiously optimistic.

Given that the movie starts in a mansion, it's not long before it skips directly onto an underground lab for the bulk of the film. Whilst for pacing and story it made sense that the undead were contained in a secured environment, it was annoying to be presented with a taste of the iconic, only to have it pulled from beneath you.

Whilst the second film did try and capture some of that gaming magic, like the setting and Nemesis, by the time of the third film onwards, all semblance was lost.
