In another entry from Ocarina of Time, we have the big bad sorcerer himself. Well, kind of. After making your way to the end of your first temple as an adult, realising the game was taking it easy on you up until this point, you face Phantom Ganon, the evil spirit from beyond. While it may be a thrill to realise it’s not Ganondorf in the flesh, especially after his sudden and terrifying appearance, this boss has his own tricks.

Disappearing between painting and creating fake copies of himself, this fight keeps your heart racing as you try to predict which direction he’ll come from. A perfectly timed arrow, or several, will progress this fight into its second stage. There the spirit will live up to its title as sorcerer and shoot magic at you which can be deflected with a good sword swing, but after the first hit you’ll realise he can do the same in one of the deadliest tennis matches ever.

With a final blow which sends the phantom into the air, this boss kill gives you some dialogue with the real Ganon and he even compliments your skin. Being your first Temple victory, this sets the standard for the rest of the encounters to come.
