When it comes to sport spin-offs of established franchises, theres actually more potential for a good game than you might at first think. Sure, its going to be more of a casual experience, more party game than 8 hour Saturday binging material, but the novelty of seeing your favourite games in a radically different context can actually be quite a fun experience if you have the right amount of friends playing with you. Unfortunately, Mega Man Soccer squanders any of that potential right out the gate. Bringing nothing new to the table other than a handful of special finishers, the game does absolutely nothing to make a claim for its own existence. A lot of the franchise baiting could have honestly been forgotten if the title provided a decent game of virtual football but sadly, Mega Man Soccer is probably one of the worst video game recreations of the sport you will ever play. Feeling completely clunky and unresponsive, Mega Man Soccer features nothing that would attract soccer fans and even less that would attract Mega Man fans, so it all comes down to one simple question: who was this game even made for?
