10 Most Ultra-Violent Video Games - Ranked From Worst To Best
1. DOOM (2016)
There's something about how well DOOM marries its various cerebral themes that's tantamount to fine art. I mean yes, we're talking about a game where within five minutes you'll go from ripping a demon's head apart to triple shotgun-blasting a floating eye monster and stuffing another's tusk into its eye, but the sheer passion and drive behind all these actions is incredibly infectious.
The fact it runs at a solid 60fps is a gift from the gaming gods too, and that's before you factor in the one-button toggles to the likes of the chainsaw or appropriately-named Big F*cking Gun.
When it's firing on all cylinders - and Mick Gordon's industrial metal soundtrack is thundering away underneath, punctuating every kill - there is no better, more purely visceral and violent experience on Earth than 2016's DOOM.
