10 Most Underrated Video Games Of 2017 (So Far)
6. Prey
Prey was a victim of Bethesda's review policy. The game itself wasn't the blame for its rather poor sales. Banking on nostalgia for a series that has long since died was a foolish move and when it came to shifting copies, the lack of reviews on day one made it so that the average consumer had no idea what they were buying into. So naturally, they didn't buy in at all.
Which was a shame as the game wasn't all too bad. There were a few hiccups in terms of enemy variety and backtracking, but even then the game made up for it. A fun pseudo-horror game with fun abilities and a somewhat engaging story.
We can only hope that Bethesda hop of their high horse and start shifting review copies. Otherwise, they will probably kill even more of their up and coming franchises.
