10 Most Underrated Weapons In Gaming
7. The Brick: Timesplitters Series
The iconic Timesplitters FPS series has never been one to take itself too seriously. While the genre is often the home of incredibly intense matches, featuring super-serious shootouts between heavily-armed soldiers, Timesplitters takes a different route. Here, you’re likely to find a monkey and a giant sentient gingerbread man doing battle wielding silly weapons.
One such weapon is the Brick. As the name suggests, this is nothing but a run-of-the-mill housebrick, which can be thrown. It was really designed to be used during the challenge stages (window-smashing ones, naturally), but can also be used outside of them.
An unlockable weapon, there are two ‘firing’ modes, which simply alter the way the Brick is thrown. Its properties didn’t change very much through the trilogy, always being awkward, unwieldy and largely ignored by most players. Those who did put in the time to learn to aim with it, though, sometimes found it incredibly fun to use. Its one-shot-kill potential when targeted well resulted in some of the most ridiculous yet satisfying takedowns in the series.
