As anyone who has so much as seen a two-second clip of Binding of Isaac can confirm, it's a weird, weird game. When you're killing laser-shooting buttholes inside your mother's womb, there's little chance you can say you're playing another regular video game.

So it's not entirely surprising that it also contains one of the most messed up and unusual deaths in video games. And it's all the more messed up because you actually get it when you win.
