The success of Super Mario Maker 2 shows that fans still highly regard Mario’s original NES look to this day. So why not go that extra mile and put the 8-bit Mario into Mario Kart? We'd love to see the original 1985 Super Mario Bros. sprite in Mario Kart Tour.
Sure, the third person view of Mario Kart may not lend itself well to a 2D sprite, but including a blocky 3D model could easily rectify this. It'd be a great way to engage relapsed gamers who grew up with Mario, and as fan-service as well.
With so many babies and alternate costumes in the modern Mario Kart roster, it would be refreshing to feature such an off-the-wall change.
