6. Why Does Quiet Wear So Little Clothing? - Metal Gear Solid V

Metal Gear Solid V's new character Quiet proved controversial with players from the moment she was introduced, largely due to her skimpy mode of dress - that is to say, despite spending the game in the middle of a warzone, she wears an extremely revealing bikini-type getup.

But in 2013, creator Hideo Kojima gave an impassioned speech insisting that there was a legitimate storyline reason for Quiet's lack of practical clothing, calling her "the antithesis to the women characters... who are excessively exposed."

Most infamously, Kojima added, "once you recognise the secret reason for her exposure, you will feel ashamed of your words and deeds."

Except, it turned out that Quiet ended up leaving little to the imagination because... she breathes through her skin, and so covering up her flesh would suffocate her. Right.

This explanation only made the fanbase more irritated by the whole debacle, and if Kojima simply admitted he wanted to put a fan service character in the game or even said nothing at all, it probably would've been preferable to this insultingly gossamer-thin excuse for some on-screen T&A.
