Twelve Minutes is an initially fascinating mystery game in which players are caught in a time loop, which culminates in the protagonist's wife being suspected of murder by a cop who enters their apartment.

It's an incredible hook for the rest of the game, enticing players to figure out precisely why their wife is being looked at for murder.

That is, until you get the extremely icky answers.

At game's end, it's revealed that the time loop is taking place in the husband's head as he tries to imagine a blissful future with his wife, who is actually his half-sister.

The cop meanwhile represents his father, who attempts to convince his son to end the relationship and move on.

Given the overwhelmingly negative reaction to the incest twist and everything associated with it, the developers were probably better off keeping things ambiguous and just not revealing precisely what was going on here.
